Planning a full daytrip at Whangaroa this Friday, any fellow masochists welcome to tag along.

Arriving at Clansman wharf 0330 to snaffle some fresh jacks, then moving round to Ratcliffes for 0400 launch
Paddling out to Kingfish Lodge (easy 40min paddle) to see if any Kraken are hanging around under the lights at top of the tide

Then working around the heads/TGA Bay foul, maybe out to Stevies if the birds are active.

Back in to harbour for low tide to grab a feed of mussels, cockles and oysters (alive alive, oh) and BBQ a fish and the aforementioned molluscs at Lanes Cove for lunch.

Then another session working my favourite patch where the current coming in through the heads slams into the Haystack, before riding the tide back home, onshore around 1700.

Go home, fillet, eat, sleep
Phoenix Hornet - Specialty Assault Craft

Dad! Dad! Look at his fish! It's way bigger than anything you've EVER caught! - Nosey 7-8yo boy on opening my icebox to father strapping down his $XXX Stabicraft 759(?) - Gold. Pure Gold.

Wish I could but I somehow got roped in and didn't have a good enough excuse to get out of looking after a dozen or so "tweens" at a guys youthgroup sleepover. Leave some for me.
