Sounds really good HLD. I'd love to make it for both fun and experience but this is the first weekend I've promised to stay home this year, 2 weekends due to weather. Hopefully there may be another opportunity soon............. Maybe a mid winter one to add to the mix

Sorry can't make this one, would love to though but I am down in Auckland from tomorrow until Sunday this week. (Taking my Yak though so if you see a mango-flame prowler in Beach Haven -it's probably me).

Once I am back though would be keen to meet up with other Northland locals for a fish.

Flounder trip postponed as there is currently a Southern Right Whale and calf in close in the Bay, hanging around Black Rocks / Marsden.

These are rare at the best of times, and certainly the first I've heard of in this close (Well within yakking range  )

Heading out to have a nosey in Red Dwarf, launching Opito Bay at 0700. Ch6 "Red Dwarf".

Cheers

Heh heh, cheers guys.

These trips are primarily for detailed info following a TXT heads-up for the local BOI crew, as well as anyone else who happens to be in the area and wants to tag on. Not really pitched at you long-haul southerners ;)

Matt,
The Whangarei Club is coming up to the Bay on Sat 28th, I believe (hope). Although this has yet to be confirmed.
Touch base with yakfisherkarl, as there should be a fair few heading up from your neighbourhood - and we all know it's far more fun travelling in convoy 8)

Cheers

Good to catch up with you and Frank Pete. Northland Kayak Fishing Club members had a good trip even though the fish were hiding! Our Club weekend trip to Urupukapuka Island in October will be good! See you at Whatuwhiwhi next month.
