I haven't fished around the mount for years but did pick up a few feeds around rabbit island when I did. Probably better looking more down towards papamoa which from most of the reports is starting to have snaps moving in. Harrisons cut is normally pretty good and is between the mount and papamoa just head out 1.5 to 2km out which will be 16-20m deep. I'm working weekends so won't be out but I would think if the weathers good there will be plenty of others out. Just watch the wind its been blowing pretty solidly most days which can make for a shithouse paddle home.

If you're fishing around Pilot bay the channel buoys apparently shelter some gnarly Trevally. I've caught zilch at that place so far but I've heard of fishermen on the wharf catching JD's. Best to anchor too as the current is pretty strong.
