Went on the sand today didn't even get a bite were are all the snapper

Find some foul or structure at this time of the year, thats where the fish tend to be rather then feeding out in the open. It seems to have been a pretty tough winter at paps this year with the water temps being down by a good couple degrees but other areas seem to be fishing more consistently down towards matata.
