If no one is available to catch up, there is always the Antarctic centre down the road that's pretty good, You could get a helicopter lesson around the other side of the airport, the Airforce Museum in Hornby, Spot of golf at Russley (just in front of the airport) or Clearwater ($$), Take the bus into the centre of the city etc etc.
...or just sit in the Koru Lounge on the second floor and pig out for $35 (for 4 hours)

Hawk is right, the Antarctic Centre is good value ( well it used to be) and is an easy all from the airport....
Alternatively I can send you round to my parents place and they can make you cups of tea, or....you can catch an early flight home !
