Can't do tomorrow but I am moving from Auckland to Wellington next month and I am a mad keen yak fisherman so I will be looking for some buddies to go out with.

Sorry Todd, didnt check the forum till too late.
Two great fishing days this weekend. Got out in Lyall Bay this afternoon with my partner. No wind, no swell, + sun.
Result? Sarah - 3 blue cod, 4 tarakihi. Me - zip...
And i had to do the filleting.
And the eating.
There were 5 other yaks in the same area. Anyone got some tales?

Hey All,

amazing weekend! Good to see so many people on the water. Sounds like everyone caught enough to get some good meals in. Finally have a fish finder up and running again which is a big help. Freezer is nice and full with 4 blue cod to add to yesterdays kahawai, red cod, gurnard and terahiki. I didn't pick up a single cuda over the weekend!! Did snap a rod though :@

If anyone is keen for a bit of a catch up over beer one night (perhaps next week?) let me know. It would be good to get up to date with whats happening around the place.

Cheers,
Anthony

Was an epic weekend. Went out with Coolboy and his uncle out of Tarakena bay. Was a pretty slow start to the day, moved to the end of the reef and picked up 3 decent blue cod. Followed by a welcome plague of kahawai. Followed by an unwanted plague of cuda, the biggest of which broke my fairly new soft-bait rod. :@

Still a great day out, all on 4" nuclear chicken 8)

Good work on the softies. I've resisted using them down here but going to do a bit more this season I think. Keen to try inchikus but would make expensive barracouta lip piercings :^)

Yesterday was mint out west. Got some pretty solid fish including a 14lb snapper. I've put up a trip report. Pity we don't get these extended weather windows in summer.
