I am! Problem is I have to be back at 12ish… so either really early session for me or Sunday the whole day.

Come out early :D

Scorching bay seems like a good starting point. I'll wake up at 6 and if the weather is decent enough I'll be on the water by 7.. 2 weeks is just too long without a paddle...

Wind looks good, but the swell is looking outrageous.

Predicted 3mtr swell with a 1mtr chop, and opposing sea and swell directions is no joke guys.

I would suggest holding off for Sunday Morning. Best combination of wind and swell for pretty much the whole coast. The swell is 'only' 2mtr.

Happy to join though if folks are still keen. Safety in numbers- and at the vry least there will be one person with a beacon (me!)

Ps don't get me wrong. Getting cabin fever myself... Its been a rough couple of weekends weatherwise...

Haha, I had bad cabin fever myself yesterday! Fortunate to get a ride out with fatbob. Kahawai were running strong last night and meet a random to make a party of 3. Very enjoyable night dispite the wind.

I feel like I'm a bit too time constrained on Saturday to have a decent crack at a fish so I'm looking to head out Sunday morning instead. I'm thinking pt Gordon with the intention of picking up a feed of Terahiki. Would look to stay out as long as the wind is tolerable - hoping it doesn't come earlier than forecast...

Good luck to anyone heading out tomorrow, will be interested in hearing how you all get on.

We should meet for a decent surf session in Lyall bay maybe… To be honest, I would swap my board for the yak anytime

Funnily enough, those conditions <do> look awesome for a surf. :P

Shame I'm not a surfer! Seems like it would be a good compliment to being a yak fisher!

Coastal fishing conditions look dicey all weekend. Light Westerly and southerly winds Saturday means it will be pretty smooth off Scorching Bay so the original plan of fishing in the harbour side of Mirimar Peninsula tomorrow looks pretty good to me.
I've been told the Snapper are in the harbour so I'm hoping to get out at sunrise to have a good crack at them.
Kau Bay
And Point Gordon
Here I come.

Hopefully I'll have a couple of good fish and can pull up at Scorching Bay for a cooked Breakfast by midday.

Surf should be insane at Lyall Bay.

I definately agree that goin out alone isn't wise, so does anyone want to join me early tomorrow?

Maybe I'll just do both mornings?
I'll flick a txt later on today but I'll most likely be convinced to come out for a while.
Cheers,
Anthony

Great,
Kau Bay and the hole off Kau Point are tucked in away from the south westerly and I've been getting some great tips on fishing there from Steve and the guys at Steves Fishing shop.
I'd really like to be getting on the water at 6 to take advantage of sunrise and the change of tide.

My plans have just changed, so I won't be out until mid morning now.
Just incase anyone was planing to get down there for sunrise.

I have a feeling it's still going to be blowing at sunrise.. I'm going back to my original sunday morning plan, mau or gordon somewhere around there. Good luck tomorrow.

I went out by myself. Amazing that no one elce showed up!

Softbaited from scorching to the Niwa Boys in the next bay. Caught a ton of blue cod, most under 33cm. Kept two

Caught heaps of kahawai but released all but one that bled out. And caught every bloody spotty in the harbour.

Good to see a few others catching some decent fish!
