Managed to get out yesterday (sunday) off Waikanae. Plenty of Gurnard and Spiny Dogs and not much else. Awesome day for it.

DJ-400, good to hear from you and hope you can make our October event.

Cammie, good stuff and once we get a date set we can post it on the other forums too. There's certainly a lot of people into/interested in getting into yak fishing in the region.

Anyone going to try and get out this weekend?

I've been watching the weather and I've seen the forecast flip at least once this weekend.

I'm dead keen to get out, but wondering - thinking it might have to be an early morning thing on Saturday... perhaps closer to home. Thinking maybe a paddle around Miramar/Evans bay if the wind gets up early too.

Would be just as keen to get up the K-Coast, but a little concerned about the changing weather. I see there isn't a massive change in tides, it's just that wind looks like it could be uncomfortable.

:y: or :n: ?

Looks a bit dodgy - depends what time this n/w change happens.

Pukerau Bay? Prob a bit south at the moment, the surfcasters are seeing fish up TeHoro way now but the waters still cold.

Isn't Pukerua bay off-limits? I thought at least the inshore bit was up to the across to the Fishermans table rock?

Can't believe I've got to go to work tomorrow!!! Arg!!!

Swellmap has the NW-S change for Sunday morning, so i am still thinking of Saturday morning, but i defo agree with you Paul... Looking sketchy.

Methesda, if you're snooping around the south coast this weekend, let me know… I'm locked to Lyall bay or could maybe launch at Evans, but don't mind to paddle a wee bit…

Jason and I got out off Waikanae on Friday after 4 months of no fishing. Still heaps of Spinys and carpet bags around but we got a feed of carrots. Nice day out with all day sun.
