First time out in a while now.

Hey all,

I've been missing in action for nearly a decade. Kids happened. This Xmas, I finally dug the old aircraft carrier out of the garage, cleaned her up, and got an itch again. I've been out twice now, second time today, and happy to say, bagged my first NZ Snapper (as a Pom, this is one of the most important credentials I feel, for citizenship... after a Kiwi wife, and kids with NZ passports of course).

Makara today - straight out from the bay to about 20 mtrs. Caught while I was rigging up, on a 80g Lucanus Green Shrimp that I leave bobbing around whilst setting up other baits. Would have been about 2-3 metres off the bottom.

It's awful quiet in the Wellington Sub-forum lately I've seen, so hope this instigates some activity.

Noice one. A decade? That just means your kid/s are about to start out-fishing you. How about a 2-stroke yak (tandem) while it's still cool to be yak fishing with dad?
