Its been way too long since I have been out on the Kayak. Looking at going out this Friday, got a few days leave to take and as the weather is looking good at the moment want to make the most of it.

am keen to try Makara, but will be my first time kayaking out there, I usually stick to puk bay, so wondering if any body else was think along the same lines and might be going out Friday.

Cheers
Rob

Keep an eye on swellmap mate, if you trust it. Wind should be good but late in the day. I'm a fair weather sailor whimp, Makara is a good spot but that coast changes quick IMHO. I had planned going out this weekend (Pukerua) but based on swellmap I'm considering a knot practising weekend instead.

Saturday afternoon and Sunday look like great days now, so Makara should be a good option, but sticking to otaki chasing carrots for me

I am now considering a puk bay mission tomorrow, see if any gurnard are hanging out on the sand. Plus considering its been a fair few months is probably a good idea to keep it simple and go somewhere I know.
