Not much bragging going on in here lately, had an extra day off today and launched from Paekakariki beach. Nice conditions. 2 hours on the water, the usual spineys and three horse Kahawai. Gotta love the fun they provide. That was enough of a feed for me and herself, back home cleaned up and enjoy the afternoon sun with a nice coffee.

Nice, great day indeed, had to bite the bullet and do some home chores after the weekend. Gotta love the KY as you say, big ones out there currently, trying some of the recipes out of the nz fishing mag from April vs normal smoking to tempt the kids

Hi Blazer60

I have just discovered this page for us in the Wellington area, nothing much here as you say, I hope to post in the future and maybe catch up with you on the water to learn a few techniques.
I work on the Coast and see the conditions daily along the Raumati area and its probably just lucky the van has no rack for the Yak or I would be out there everyday much to my employers disgust. :@

Yeah mate, the number of times I've driven past the Kapiti coast and it's been glass, well I hate to think. Yep always keen to catch up, probably will start working my way up the coast fishing wise at least as far as Otaki as things start to cool down.

Yep sounds good, still waiting on equipment from the Kayak manufacturer before
wetting it
and letting them have a chance to rectify their mistake before going nuclear on them. :o:

I have yet to survey the launching spots and tidal differences around them.

Weather looking good this weekend, anyone heading out off Otaki? I'm going for a fish Saturday either Makara or give Otaki a nudge as I've never fished it.

What's early? Not knowing the area I thought launching from the Tasman Rd area looks OK.

I launch from the surf club, concrete ramp down to the sand, so easy launch, aiming for 7 -7.30 to get the tide change. Yep Yako, snaps will be a bargain, but KY and carrots is the target for the day
