Post Viking Tempo for sale
Brown in colour - was a failed attempt to have orange and black, but the colours ran together in moulding.

Has a good seat, a paddle, and 2 rod holders fitted.

Has had a tough life, much used for access to rock fishing, so the bottom is plenty scratched. It appears to have much life left, though.

Now very much surplus to requirements (I have 2 backup Prowlers now).

$400: I can cart as far as Whangarei, or to Auckland on one of my 3-weekly trips there.

These are great yaks, they may not be that fast but they are super stable and can handle the knocks, I've had mine for over five years and used almost every wknd, for the money this would be a good yak for someone who wants to get into yak fishing but not sure about kayaking and doesn't want to spend a fortune!
some pics would be good Pj..

What would be the min size required to use this yak safely/effectively?

Our son then aged 11 or 12 used it several times to ferry himself and a mate of the same age out to the Enclosure Bay reef at Waiheke Is. He would have been about 40kg then. The mate sat in the hold at the stern. He also used it solo a few times before he bought his own first kayak.

As to max size, I'd guess it'd handle a 120kg person without too many worriees.

It's quite bulky and rides quite high.

I'm working in Auckland this week, will take pics when home in Russell again in the weekend.

Oops - forgot to post pics. Thanks for the reminder.

She will easily carry a large guy. I was 105kg most of the time I used her regularly, and occasionally carried a kid in the stern well also, without the kayak seeming to have been affected in any way.

Extras: adapted bungee cord for paddle retainer, piece of cord (yellow) for paddle leash, piece of thinner cord (grey) for fish stringer, 2 x rod holders (real ones, actually), and scupper bungs that I have never actually used.

Note what appears as a ding in the hull on the bottom. This occurred when she was upside-down in the sun for a long hot day some summers ago. You can straighten this with judicious use of a hair dryer, but as it seemed not to affect performance in any way, I never bothered.

You get a lot of kayak and a lot of fishing fun for your $400 here.

Yup, I know how to tie a bowline and don't hesitate to use it.
