I've tried something similar, maybe a tiny bit bigger. If you can paddle with it, you're a better man than me! Too much drag.

What about lead core line? I've had a go from the yak, it was a headache because you need to feed some line off the reel manually to get it started while paddling - not enough hands! Having said that, once the line was out, it was OK. I could see the potential.

I think you're referring to the standard 'yellow' boat paravane? If so, then I too tried it and it now sits in a collection of ancient cobwebs in the shed.
This one however is tiny and I wouldn't expect much more drag than one of the big-bibbed hardbodies, maybe less.

25m though... That's worth a bit of drag 8)

Was out today and the game boats were less than 2km away running back and forward, gotta be tuna time soon :y:
