Post Shimano Baitrunner problem
howdy folks,

shimano baitrunner dl 4000 fa..........does the handle just slide straight out or does it unscrew like the he older 3500b??? that is the question......does anyone have the answer........ pleeeeeeeeease

Cheers team, pretty solid, had some crc on it to try loosen it, will keep trying, at least now i know not to try unscrew it!!! Anyway, the misses (who's reel it is) is away for 3 weeks so got some time left :whew:

That uh. Shit. The exol or whatever it is that we spray on reels etc to stop it rusting and it's fine on braid. Breaks down salt. Can't remember the name, it looks like crc. Red lid. Uh.

You will need a corosion and rust penetrating product to get it to give or a gentle persuasion device. just don't hurt it while your at it.

Also, with care, if it's all metal a little blow torch can free up sized parts too. But Only if it's all metal. Innox does a great job un seizing all the pliers and scissors that have festered under all my old tackle.

Taking a blow torch to your gear as part of the servicing. Sounds like something Waikatoyakka would do.

Sounds a little braver than I would get with a reel. Grease and plastic bushes are not going to be overly receptive to it. not to mention tempering

Yeah, from doing quite a bit of spannering in my time and fully aware of the heat technique, pretty sure i would be able to free all metal parts using it.......just have to seperate them from the large lump of smouldering plastic. :D as it happens lots of daily soaking with crc, and some mild use from my gentle persuasion device :?: has freed the little blighter, now to properly lubricate as not to happen again. cheers for the advice team. :y:
