I bought these dry storage things for the car keys & phone.
Am more worried about my car keys, with the immobilizer chip.... it would cost heaps for a call out plus a new chip for the key if they got water inside it. Then there's the value of the clever phone (cheapie)

The storage thingies cost around 45 bucks for both, lasted about 15-16 trips before they started to crack at the seams

At Burnsco, I bought the waterproof casing, 100% it said. So far at least 30 trips out, still going well, just a bit bulky as its strung off to my PFD

The small food storage boxes with FOUR clips (i.e. not Sistema) work well too.

...And a piece of kitchen towel to scavenge any drops of water that may circumvent your seals. 8)

I've used key locks like these attached to my tow ball for years while surfing. Had no issues at all.
