Hi All,

Standard rules apply, please see the competition page

Competition Dates: April 1st to April 30th

1. Only one fish per entry

2. Multiple entries are allowed over the month but only your last entry will be put into the pool for voting, this means that the Snapper you catch on the 5th you put up, then on the 20th you catch a bigger Snapper and you post that, and on the 30th you manage to catch a bigger one still, the poll will only contain your entry from the 30th.

All entries should include the following information (along with a picture of the fish)

Name / Username of Angler:
Fish Type:
Length:
Date/Time of Capture:
Location of Capture:
Type of Lure/Bait used:
Comments: (optional)

The prize for the best fish this month is again a great prize from K-Labs: Prize is to be finalised but probably a rod from K-Labs for first place.

The runner up will receive a selection of Berkley products supplied by Pure Fishing NZ.

This is an excellent prize this month, so lets show our support and lets see how many entries we can put in between us this month, remember it's not always size that counts, it's a public vote for the best fish, the biggest fish doesn't always win!

Good luck everyone!

Everyone is a genius.

But if you judge a fish
on its ability to climb a tree.
it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.

Probably not going to compete against the big snapps, but thought Id add a pic of the rat kingi I caught last weekend, sorry about the quality, its a still off my video camera (vid to follow :P )

Name / Username of Angler: KC
Fish Type: Kingfish
Length: about 75cm ish (not measured)
Date/Time of Capture: 10.04.11 about 9.30am
Location of Capture: Orere Point
Type of Lure/Bait used: yellow 3in curl tail
Comments: Headed out without my fish finder which had decided to die on me, spotted a small boil up in the distance so paddled like mad to get there in time for it to dissappear on me |( , flicked out a few softies with no luck, moved to where I guessed the baitfish were heading (couldnt follow it as had no FF) just in time for the boil up to rise again close by, a softie went out on a fast retrive and GAME ON!!! :P

Nice KC. I saw the biggest kingie under my yak the day before. Biggest I've seen - thought it was a shark or something at the start. At a guess, 1.5m and THICK!!

Hey tech, Maybe it is :$

Working on the video now, the two cameras gives some realy cool footage.
Need a new program as "movie maker" isnt realy allowing me to do the things I want to with the two cameras, but its still going to be a good vid ;)

Sk8e8, biggest kingi I have seen was KK's, biggest by a long long way...

Would be keen to hear what you end up using Chris as have also found movie maker a bit of a pig at times.

I've chosen Sony's Vegas Pro HD as my video editing software. It comes in various editions ranging from the semi-pro version that would take years to master but they do have one called "Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 Suite" for about USD$100 which is good. It will process full HD video and will author DVDs and BlueRays. I haven't had the time to really get into it but that's what I'm using.

Yea thats about USD$100 more than im looking to spend tech...
My mate owns a production company (also works for tv3) so has all the propper gear, but I just want something simple / easy / cheap that allows me to do a little more.
Apple have a great program, but unfortunatly the mac I have is too old...
