5 hours and 3 live baits after starting to fish I glimpsed a dead bait by my balloon. the tail had been bitten off b...dy sharks! pulled fresh livey out of my live bait store and out he gos. 30m from my yak, i set the clicker, glance at my balloon - Wow im sure i just saw a large bit of silver shoot though the water, next minute my bait is walking on water and a kingi right behind him. 3 times he cleared the water and then every thing gos slack, my balloon blowing away in the wind. i wait for afew seconds and slowly wind in the slack all of 20m then theres a bang and a sream of line leaving my reel (what an orsum sound) 35 hard, exciting, fearful minutes and 500m later i gaff a 32 pound kingi. my bp so far from a yak!
So remember guys an gals never never give up, if that livie swims around long enough something WILL eat him!

NICE! That's gotta be the biggest Kingfish we've seen from a kayak this year!

I use a net cage that hangs over the side of my yak, made it my self. have a look at the pic on "do it your self" live bait storage. they stay very alive in them. but to day i saw sum wire mesh ones in k mart for $20 . even got spring loaded lid. Im seting up a trip to lottin point end of feb to chase kingis if your keen?

March- april is actualy the best fishing time for lottin point ,so im hoping to set up a trip down there some time then as well. The kingi were still here at that time last year so heres hoping. A month off for the roar  you lucky bugger, ive not had that since i sold my company. I dont hunt as otfen as id like now a days. doesnt help that my main hunting mates eyes are so bad now that he hardly hunts any more. :envy:
