Really only needed one in each corner for the rudder cable tubes to pass through, then decided to reduce weight, so drilled some more.
Finally I had to cut a bigger hole on each side so I could get in and glue the rear well scupper holes in place.

I will know better for the next one.

The Transducer Housing has been fitted and glued into place.
Hopefully it is watertight.

I have been trying to work out a smart way to fit the rudder.
I finally decided to cut a slot in the stern, and fit a rubber tube for the rudder post.
The tube came from a broken carbon fishing rod, which fitted the tube perfectly.
The tube was fitted and adjusted to the correct fitting, and then glued onto place.

Only took about 10 minutes to do. and was simpler than trying to drill the hole.

Coming up very nicely :y: just thinking if cutting that section off for attaching a rudder was the best decision as the rudder puts a lot of pressure on that area and thats where in composite kayaks strengthening is required and thats were some kayaks like point 65 XP18 have miserably failed causing disasters.

You should be sweet though because wood has much more flex in it and not as brittle

Fitting the rudder cable tubes into place.
10mm nylon tube, should give plenty of room for the 3mm cables.
I drilled a 10.5mm slot in the deck, through which the tubes fit.

Rod holder holes behind the seat.
4 behind the seat, and two to the side of the cockpit, and two more forward of the cockpit.

The cockpit is almost finished.
All filled in a watertight.
It's amazing how long you can take over fitting one small bit of ply.
I have been cutting up carbon tube to use to cover my rudder cable tubes.

Fitting the Kayaksailor 1.6m2 sail. The sail is reefed.
While you can fit the sail with a couple of tiedowns, I wanted to make a couple of blocks to hold and ensure correct placement of the sail.
IMAG0113.jpg
The rear well, all finished and painted white - why? - Because I had some white paint to use, and it hid all the filler.
IMAG0114.jpg
The central well looking forward. The rear part is for the tackle storage, and the forward is insulated and for fish (if I'm so lucky) storage. Full length rods can also slide forward and be stored below decks for the surf trips.

The hatches fitted.
