The front hatch on my P400 is all but inaccessible on the water, and the battery was taking up valuable room in my tackle pod. I didn't want to use an in-hull battery bracket because my yak lives outside, so inside the hull is damp.
So I thought, why not hang the battery under the hatch. In between trips, the battery holder can be removed and charged/stored in a dry location.
A bit of PVC pipe, a few fittings and it's still a bit of prototype but it works. Once the hatch is removed from the yak I can connect the charger clips directly to the battery (7Ah SLA). I added a power switch to de-power the plug when charging or not in use.
If I don't need the FF just leave the battery hatch at home and fit a standard hatch.
I wouldn't ordinarily have it in while the yak is on the roof racks. That's just for the photo.

Nice work, I put my battery into a sistema container with the cables coming out the lid via two small holes and it sits in my hatch, even if the hull gets water in there is never enough to get into the two small holes in the lid.
