Never liked how close the reels sit so close to the water in the standard rod holders. So after having abit of a play I come up with this. Will see how it goesImageImage

Yeh it's just a piece cut from an old chopping board.

Good effort. I have been thinking of doing something similar , but i'd watch for tip wraps and sticky drags. There is a massive amount of leverage on the rods when trolling, even more at strike time!

I usually troll from rod holder up the front. The idea for it for me was more to have rods higher so reels arnt so close to water line and the standard rod holders be used for net or gaff.

Ironically I come across this 3 days after drilling a nice big hole in my trident for an addition rod holder....Oh well i'm happy with how it turned out anyway!

Anyway to the point, what starport mount is that, and how it is screwed down? I am wanting to attach something the the single little screw hole behinf my seat on the trident 4.3, it has a small circle mold shape and wondering if that piece you have used would work?

Cheers

I think that Railblaza fitting is a "miniport" they come with a trak mount adapter. Is the insert or moulded threaded hole for a safety flag on your Trident?
