So what's everyone's plans? ive got a batch at papa aroha motor camp for the duration as this is one of my favourite times of year to fish the gulf with the snapper feeding aggressively and putting on condition for winter, if anyone is around im more than happy to take them with me to some of the m...

i think everyone is different with what weight they like, personally i run top quality low diameter 20lb braid. I used to run much lighter but over the years I've crept up in weight and haven't noticed any difference in hook up rates. I find i get a lot less wind knots with this weight and also like...

If the wind gets too strong from that side the port Charles wharf is very sheltered from the west, caught many a jd,ky, trev and even a few kingys off there as a kid, also has a small sandy beach either side of it fiolliwed by rocks rock pools ect. Otautu Bay has long been my stop- gap when the weather is dodgy, it has a wharf that can produce good fish (also very shallow at low tide, but an easy walk around the corner to the rocks fixes that) also the easiest launching place I know of in the coromandel when the weather is poos, sheltered from...

I have mine forward in the recess, don't see the point in taking up valuble real estate, I think Viking have now come up with a mount that will hold 2 7ah batterys under the sounder.. under the top of the pod kinda thing
