Re: Anglers may be off the hook !!!

What is amazing is that he then says there is no need to cut the TAC! Why then the attempt to curtail recreational fishing? :?: And then they state that TAC might be 12 000 tons per year once stocks reach 40%. Was this just smoke and mirrors to draw attention from something else... he is already ind...

Re: Understanding the Issues

That is why we hate lawyers... I read the law and I can in no way understand the majority's decision... the minority's decision is clear... but how the hell could the majority came up with that conclusion? The law does NOT state the allowance for Maori and recreational must be made with commercial i...

Re: Deaker v Minister Nathan Guy 3-4pm

That last caller that did the research on the size of the recreational fishing tackle market for a major supplier said the market for rods, reels, hooks, bait etc was $70 million....3 x the value of the commercial catch.. Guy said that the last time the research was done was in the 1990's and they ...

Re: My Submission

Very good! It is obvious then... The BOP population has collapsed... this requires an immediate ban on commercial fishing in the whole BOP area and a reduction on the recreational day limit to 6 with a minimum size of 32 cm. Commercial snapper fishing can continue elsewhere, but BOP should be off-li...

That is EXACTLY the setup I am looking at .... if only I had the $$$...

Almost do anything setup... SB, Slow jig, strayline... you could even run a ledger on it...

Is the Lexa all it is cracked up to be?

We must NOT relent until the commercial massacre of juveniles are stopped! Careful we will start thinking your a activist or something strange like that :P  Sometimes I get carried away a bit. Actually I currently believe that we do not need cuts in the TACC... just ban the disposal of fish a...

Re: Snapper Debate on Deaker on Sport

Have the NZ government opened Pandora's Box? They stated that SNA1 is NOT recovering fast enough... less than 10% in BOP and less than 20% in Hauraki (or something like that)... 1 million rec's slowly waking up...do they really dare to reduce the rec 'allowance'? So, if they then abandon the recreat...

The moment I realize we have one of those "We snapper will eat anything you throw at us", I switch to Z-mans...

One softbait, 9 fish.... ;)

Unfortunately, for me that happens only once in a while... :(

Re: Hook shape and Snapper mortality

Problem is, that is the type of BS the NZ government wants to listen to...

That is also why NO studies are being done... rather be blind and hope and belief than actually support research and find out...

Then they can simply say... Oh, with the information at our disposal we decided...

Hi Yaker, Would your daughter appreciate constructive criticism/advice on her paper? Things she might want to add change for better marks: 1. She never states what CPUE stands for. It needs to be stated the very first time it is written in the Results... it is not really good enough to state in the ...

Well written... much more readable than mine... will make some changes. The enemy here is the killing of juvenile and 'excess' fish which are returned to the sea. I have done a lot of thinking... and I am becoming convinced that it should not be allowable to return dead fish to the sea... even for u...

Re: When bored --- First draft of my Submission for SNA1

In exchange recreational fishers accept a size limit increase to 30cm and reduction of bag limit to 6 fish. I've decided I won't accept that. Thanks for the feedback. What do you feel is wrong? The 6 or the 30 cm? I would want a 32 cm limit for EVERYONE personally... and I think 9 is to much... 6 s...
