Kohi Sat Mar 26

A fairly late start this morning. Launched at 7:30 on a very packed Kohi beach with the New Zealand Optimist Nationals being held this week. By the way if you ever want to see what the conditions are like on the beach there is a new webcam that should help. http://www.windsurf.co.nz/webcams/kohi_lg....

Kohi Sat Mar 5

At the moment I have very few opportunities to go kayak fishing due to my heavy rowing commitments but today was a free day because our rowing coach is doing the Ironman in Taupo.
I cruised around the harbour to lots of different places and manages to get a feed. What a cracker day to be out.

Re: Picture size

Unfortunately all pictures even linked ones are a maximum of 800 pixels wide even if the source picture is larger.

I think the site needs to raise that maximum size from 800 to say 1600.

Hi Mental,

I know you increased the size of the fonts on the site a few months back. Is there any chance you can increase the size of the photos we can upload. The 800px max at the moment looks extremely small on modern hi res screens.

Great fish mate  I recorded 23.3 degrees out by Rangi yesterday which is the warmest water I have ever fished.

Kohi Sat Jan 30

I have been out a couple of times over the past month. I didn't have time for a TR and only managed a few sub 40 fish. No rowing training today and perfect weather conditions allowed me to get out for a quick fish this morning. I slept through my alarm so didn't launch until after 7am. GOPR1200[14-4...

Re: News article on new Hauraki Gulf park

A nice healthy discussion happening which is great to see. Plus we have our old friend PS back  I don't know what the answer is for the sustainability of the fishery. I think it is important that ALL significant breading harbours have some form of protection and that fishing-free approaches ar...

Re: News article on new Hauraki Gulf park

Sure, this is fantastic news for those that fish the inner gulf areas specified in the map. For those who like to fish anywhere north of Colville and around the eastern coast of Coro peninsula, forget about it. All those trawlers banned from the Gulf will be forced to encroach closer to the exclude...
