Re: covid 19 sports

Does anyone else find this lockdown quite interesting in some respects? I've discovered who are the true friends and who are just along for the ride. I've seen who is willing to put their own interests ahead of the collectives, as if they somehow are more important or smarter. And I've seen or hear...

Nice to know, we are listened to :: "Dear Mark Thank you for contacting the Prime Minister with your thoughts on the ability to undertake kayak fishing during the current Level 4 COVID-19 alert. I have taken the liberty of passing your email to the Minister of Sport’s office so that they can note yo...

Re: covid 19 sports

Except they say no boating so kayaking isn't classed as boating because you are allowed to do it. There it is! - I'm a bit of a bush lawyer, on account of having Lawyers and Judges in the family. I am confident that you can say: 1st level precedence - Kayaking allowed, Surfing, SUP swimming etc. 2n...

Re: covid 19 sports

I'll await Dan Bidois' response after he's talked to the Prime Minister's Office tomorrow.

But in the interests of Humour::

A Kayak is tupperware, it's a bathtub, it's lumpy sit-down paddle board.

So there, not a boat.

Re: covid 19 sports

Apart from couple of boiler plate - "we're not here right now, your email is important to us.." responses, I have had one helpful response, from Dan Bidois, my local MP - see below " Thanks for messaging me and making me aware of this – it does seem ridiculous and we will clarify the situation for l...

Re: covid 19 sports

Here's a letter to my local MP Dan Bidois, I've just sent. Feel free to copy, or adapt this and send to anyone, you all can. from those links - Allowed: swimming, surfing, kayaking, canoeing, rowing, windsurfing and paddle boarding, but stay close to shore. Re: Level 3 Fishing or not.

The answer is to get a mass launch of kayaks from Sullivans on the first good weather weekend, let them arrest 20 or 30 of us....force the issue... Could this be more effective, in the middle of the Auckland Harbour? And likely to get more participants and publicity, maybe block off the ferries and...

>>Genuinely curious, is the postponing of surgeries due to the actual busyness of the hospitals, or keeping capacity high for potential busyness?<< I would think that, "keeping capacity high for potential busyness" is the answer there, and also treating every respiratory style illness, as potential ...

Re: No fishing

Because space is limited in the flat I live in, I keep all my Kayak gear that I would use when going out in my Kayak, in the back of my car,. I also keep 4 rods n reels in a "rod rack" made from stretching bungees between the handles inside the car above the doors, these sit happily in the head line...

Can you fish or hunt in an Alert Level 4 lockdown on your own land? Can you fish or hunt if it is within immediate walking distance of your home? The following is partly, an attempt at humour and also serious: ... because even though I am well and not suffering, like people in the rest of the world, who have it much worse than us, I am still being stung, daily, but the uncaring and cavalier attitude of millennials flouting the rules. Whilst, ...

Re: No fishing

Gentlefolk,

some hints of mental health, have surfaced in the coverage of the virus pandemic effects on us.
I sincerely exhort everyone, to stay at home and keep calm, and maybe, categorise their herbs in the pantry.
