Re: Back to Narrowneck

7 in the bag with a nice 53cm early on.

I don't like to rush my fishing like some ;)

Re: Taranaki Classic 2018 - Epicskwid

Looks like a good time despite the crappy weather.

I'll have to drag myself away from Narrow Neck and start doing some of these.

NRS Chinook are awesome, full of pockets and really comfortable.

Wanted: Wheeleez

Need some wheeleez for my reload.

That soft sand is a killer with the c-tug, and I hear the sandtrak wheels aren't that much better.

Just wondering if someone has a 2nd hand pair a bit cheaper than the $300+ they go for new :headbang:

Narrow Neck 10/03 - smooth sailing

6:15am launch with Mitch and Barry. (I hear the Mayor was busy shopping for healing crystals for his yoga studio.) Easy paddle out to Rough Rock, drifted across to Pin #7. We were all on the fish. The new Catch Stingaz Jig-heads worked well - pretty impressed. Was good to get out there after the las...

Re: Flags- laws/by-laws or just good practice?

When I started kayak fishing I thought there was no way I would ever use one of those silly orange bicycle flags on my yak. Then I started fishing early mornings at Narrow Neck. There are so many boats and ships tearing through there you'd be crazy not to use every little thing you can to make yours...

Re: Speed bumps are fighting back

Come to Auckland and have a fish at Narrow Neck.

People actually wave and smile as they fly past at full throttle within 25m.

No one knows the rules, no one enforces the rules, no one gives a shit.

Nice work :y:

Wish they'd up the catch limit in Auckland to 10 - and up the min size to about 36-38cm.

27-30cm is tiny, you barely get a fillet for a small child's dinner.

NN - Just for a change.

Well my 76 year old father finally got sick of seeing me catch my limit so often so he decided to buy a 'motoyak' - which is basically a narrow inflatable with a small outboard, and come out for a go. We got there at 5am and there was actually a bit of swell pushing some decent waves onto the beach ...

Re: Complete Yak Fishing Newby

Welcome aboard.

With that budget I would look at TradeMe.

You can pick up some good deals 2nd hand there.

Ocean Kayaks and Viking Kayaks are the 2 top brands.

Narrow Neck beach is the place to launch in that area. Drift along the edge of the main shipping channel.

Good luck :y:

Great stuff !.... must admit I haven’t fished NN for ages...the often crazy boat traffic just made it less than enjoyable !
We have fun paddling in with a full load of 7 each, as all the fizz boats zoom past us headed out to who knows where, with all that snapper right under their hulls

Re: Sorry folks another NN TR

Great redemption fish after the previous weekend's misery. Mitch took off before the birds were singing, I guess he was trying to make up for lost time from the last trip where he forgot his pfd  Barry was M.I.A. - I hear he was out buying another rod - can't have too many right? Just a pity it...
