Re: Spearo / freediving pool training

Just found this thread, and decided to time my breath hold while at computer, I can do 2:30. Im a keen snorkeller and have always wanted to get into spearfishing and/or scuba. Now I have a yak (collecting it tonight! :D ) I will be able to get to interesting dive spots.

Re: Noob from Whangarei - keen to get into kayak fishing

Yay, just bought me a 2nd hand kayak. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Kayaks- ... 269734.htm looks like it may need a deluxe seat and a scotty rod holder but otherwise seems not too bad a deal. ( I'm sooo excited  )

While I'm at it does anyone have any good urls of other methods of rigging for kayak fishing, eg livebait rig, softbait, jigs, bait etc. (That's porbably 10 topics and a half!) ...

Re: Noob from Whangarei - keen to get into kayak fishing

Thanks for your replies guys. I went down to Sportsman's choice in Whangarei and had a good chat with Shamus there. I'm mostly leaning towards the elite 4.5 or the mission 420 depending on what finances I can russell up. I love the orange better than the yellow :) Shamus also should me some nice rod...
