Re: Wow did anyone just see Campbell live!

The driver of the boat didn't release the video. I think they said that the video was filmed on Boxing day, but was sent to campbell live, SPCA and fish and game by someone "with a grudge against the driver". suggests that video has been distributed around a bit......... Possums are noxious pests in...

Re: Noobie Need Help getting into Kayak Fishing

Hi Richard, Welcome to the sport! Couple more thing for you to think about...... These boats that you are looking at are frequently called "divorce doubles"....some couples can go out fine together....others simply can't. Will you always be going out together or will there be times that one of you d...

Re: Wow did anyone just see Campbell live!

Keelhaul them......and not just the driver, but the passengers who supported him. Sure - I think we have all had fun at some stage of chasing pigeons or seagulls on land as SMALL children running slower.....but this begs belief What disturbs me even more is that isn't likely to have been the only oc...

Re: Kayaking, rafting (and swimming) the Clarence river (No fishing) - definite "bucket list" trip

We saw a lot of goats and pigs and some deer. Can't comment on the fishing.....the river was very milky brown ......when you were upside down, it was still milk chocolate brown....just slightly lighter at the surface :tmi:

It was very safe to drink though....just a bit gritty

Kayaking, rafting (and swimming) the Clarence river (No fishing) - definite "bucket list" trip

Spent 5 days on a journey down the Clarence river just after New Years. This river goes from Lake Tennyson to Clarence (about halfway between Kaikoura and Blenheim) - but the get in is near Hanmer Springs. The original plan was for both Mr Celebre and me to take white water boats along with a raft t...

FS or trade: Beer Fridge / Bait Freezer

Hi, We upgraded the old Samsung fridge freezer as part of the renovations so its now it completely surplus to requirements. It's 12 years old and still works fine. Stands about 1.5m high, with ~1m being fridge and a top mount freezer. At a guess its about 240L. It does have a couple of cracked shelf...

Re: Touring kayak recommendations?

I don't think I'm particularly big but I :inlove: my beachcomber. Also consider if she will be doing any solo trips, and if weight for getting on/off the car is an issue. I know I would struggle with many of the heavier roto-moulded ones. There are also likely to be a number of sea kayaks on trademe...

Re: persons needed

Well.... We need to have a major rethink..... Finally got off the phone to the hospital. The reality is, that they cannot make it work from their end...not in a week....not like we/they did the last time. This is mainly due to staff shortages at a relatively high level (plus the BBQ seems to have di...

I'll be there....

Just so we are all aware, due to massive staffing and other changes on the ward, I still haven't finalised things at the hospital end, but am working hard on that. Hopefully hear back today or tomorrow.

Re: Yak in the surf tips, Idiot Aboard

Once water "reverses" over the surface of the rudder (rudders work like a wing in the air with high and low pressure areas over it) and water travels faster than the yak, you will inevitably lose steerage and go side-on. To prevent this happening you brace by dragging one blade along the surface of...
