Hey mate.

I see you're from Lagos, Portugal? I use to work in Lagos at a bar called 3 Monkeys on Rua de freitas. Did you ever pop around there for a beer bong? I had some great fishing adventures in the Algarve.

Re: Holiday ideas please!

Oahu, Hawaii isn't too bad. This time of year it should be quiet. Maybe the Coral coast, Fiji at the Shangri La. Warm weather, good diving and fishing.

If you don't mind a 10-12hr flight - Phuket, Thailand is splendid. Sunny, warm, great food and cheap as chips.

That's a good idea. I need something mobile like this to get the yak in and out of the garage. Nice work.

Re: Roof racks and Kayak Rack Sets for sale

Hey mate.

Have you checked out Pick a part in Takanini? They have some great roof racks. I removed a pair of fairly new Rola rook racks and paid $14. Although it is a bugger to remove the security pins and refit onto my car, the price was worth it.

Re: Fishing Orere Be very careful whoever you are!!!

It's a shame to see this happen. It seems like a common sight at some places - too many fish and all undersize. I prefer the fish heads and back bones - the fillets are usually eaten last at our household. Bones, guts and scrape are dug under the vege garden. Thanks for the post, found it very useful.

Making Salt ice. Is it worth the effort?

This sounds like a mundane question, but has anyone tried to make salt ice? I'm trying to reduce my fishing budget, as a bag of salt ice costs $6.00 at the local store.

Re: Kawakawa bay, good fishing, first turtle

Geez mate, that was a tough lesson learnt. I hope I don't have to come across an event like that. Gym fitness is different to being out on the water or swimming. There's a great crossfit class 4:00-5:30pm @ the Dale reserve if you're interested in building your cardio and fitness. Keep up the awesom...

Re: Quick Tauranga Fishing Spot - perfect for beginners.

Hey mate. I fished near this spot over January. I was fishing between the channel and caught some good pannie sized snapper. I had no idea of tides, tidal flows or kayaking ettiquette - being a beginner. Although I found it really tough going, it was a valuable lesson learnt. Thanks for the help and...

Hey mate.

Thanks for the email. I'm definitely keen to fish and have some company out on the water. Do keep in touch, I'm in the Manurewa area and can make an arrangement to meet you. Keep in touch.

Cheers,

Jeremy.

Re: What softbait or lures to use at Bottle Top Bay - Manukau Harbour

Hey mate.

Is it too late to send this post?

Bottle top bay isn't too bad when I went out last. I've had some success when I was using squid. Birley seems to attract the fish also.

Avoid the inlet on the outgoing low tide. I had some difficulty coming back to Kauri point.

Hope this helps.

Hey mate.

I fished out in Weymouth 2 weeks ago. Caught 4 good snapper and a couple throw back snapper and sharks. There's a deep hole near the Karaka/Kingseat side.

Hope this helps.

Re: Cobra Navigator all ready to go!

Hey mate. I was fishing in Papamoa when I met a bloke on the water with a brand new Cobra kayak. When he went to unscrew the storage lid the handle broke leaving his bait, phone and car keys trapped inside the hull. When we returned to land he had to borrow a drill, hammer and chisel from a local be...

Beginner from Manurewa.

Hi there.

It's great to read the kayak experiences and see the photos on the forum.

The following photos are of my kayak and kit - Viking Tempo, Hummingbird fish finder. I wish to tag along with some fellow kayakers and gain experience.

Cheers to all.

Jeremy.

Re: Hello from Manurewa

Hi there.

I see you're also from Manurewa. I'm at the beginner stages of kayak fishing with some success at Papamoa and Mt Maunganui.

If you are keen for someone to tag along, I'm very much interested.
