Thanks, Mental. Look's like I'm back to the original paddle for now.

Is my paddle broken?

I bought a new paddle during the week that arrived last night. As I was oogling over the beautiful carbon fibre blades I noticed one edge of the left hand blade has a wee gap in it. It looks like the two halves of the blade haven't been joined completely. I've talked to the supplier and they're wait...

Lost: 1 Mojo

It happens to us all sometimes, I know, but I'm in serious need of some new mojo! I didn't have the best mojo to start off with but since the halcyon days of my new PB in July last year (14lbs), it's been all downhill. Usually, I've managed to scrape something together - be it a single snapper or a ...

Re: Scratches and stuff

That is a pretty good looking scratch.

There's a couple of repair suggestions here - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21573&hilit=repair+kayak" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I make no claims as to how successful any of the options are.

Re: Fishing outing

Oh good thing you told me, I was going to go to Panmure. do you know where the BBQ is going to be and what time. According to the website it'll be at St Heliers beach. Normal start time is around 6:30 so I imagine about then. Best get in touch with Chairman Paul, he'll keep you in the loop. Sent fr...

Re: Fishing outing

Have you joined the East Auckland Kayak Fishing Club? We have regular club trips and meetings. They're great for catching up with other kayak fishers too!

Re: Legal or not?

It sounds a little suspect. Both the buyer and seller need to have a permit to sell/receive fish. You can't sell recreationally caught fish. The one exception is whitebait which is managed by DOC and can be sold (there's also no catch limits). You can report it to MPI on 0800 4 POACHER. The store sh...

Kayak fisherman rescued off Matata

Just reading the morning news online

Sounds like a well prepared kayak fisher and a successful rescue.

Anyone we know?

Re: Newbie

I have a Whisp-bar roof rack. It locks to my car so little chance of it walking away. Most seem to have some form of locking mechanism either built in or as an optional extra. The weight limit is 75kg on my car so just enough for two kayaks... I've thought about a trailer, but they're more expensive...

Re: Roof racks with 2 kayaks

I have a Yakima Bigstack. It's like an upright post so you can tie two kayaks to it on their sides.
