Re: Hobie PA14 Owners South Island? Heck just any mad keen yak fisho's!?

Hi welcome to the South island there is plenty of good places on lake Wanaka to go trout fishing I had a few days there recently with the boat and found some great kayak spots. Sent me a PM when you get settled in and we should try and catch up for a fish some where.

Hi FOM a bait caster overhead style reel that you use in the sea is all you need for jigging for trout and you can buy the pre tied fly traces from any hunting and fishing stores just ask for the pat swift brand.

Re: Lake Taupo

I have had a lot of luck jigging and you don't need to go to far from town just head out to aciaia bay and go bay further and lunch at the right hand side of the bay where there is car access and head out from there and keep a eye you on the sounder to you see the schools of fish. Good luck.

Re: looking for other kayak fishers

Hi all we have recently returned to invercargill and bought our fishing kayaks with us and I was wondering if there is any other like minded fishes out there that would like to meet up for a fishing trip etc now that the trout fishing season has opened thinking of hitting the lower oreti etc.

Hi fritter I tyres these last weekend and you use about 4metres of trace with a lefty sloop on the end for the jig also use very little drag and just keep winding when it loads up I had great fun with this last weekend at Sullivan's bay
