Re: Rod blanks

yea, still have the Hobie. I've moved to Beachlands so closer to get out fishing, trick is finding time that matches decent weather. CTS is eyewatering expensive, which is why I went to Synit for my last 2, service is also better. Custom rods are definitely not cheaper than buying factory or K Labs...

Re: Kayak Wanted for Newbie - Roughly $500-600 budget

The 2+1 if paddled by one it is a very dry ride, as you move the rear seat forward to a moulded area that's lightly elevated, sits solid in the water...

Re: New member

Welcome Team, thats a solid fishing platform and a great one to get you out there, just be very careful of the currents in and around that area, often you can hear the water change in minutes, but yes all around that coast line can fish very well, Waitawa regional park is a nice safe launching spot....

Re: Chinese reels - Opinions? Experiences?

I love the Shimano TLD it can be used for all sorts of fishing stray lining, rock fishing, jigging. I know its a large reel for a kayak but they are pretty indestructible and easy to service yourself. If shimano would release a smaller version I would pay good money for it. Had mine four years now ...

Re: Chinese reels - Opinions? Experiences?

And bear in mind most big brand names have reels that fall into "Chinese made" Okuma Daiwa Shimano etc etc and some are so cheap... I used to buy reels lower in price, but found its a false economy long term... no doubt someone will be along and tell of catching a 20lb snapper on a red shed $15 barb...

Re: Gulp pack vs tub

By memory I think there are 17 jerk shads in a tub, the tubs are convenient and I tend to have a whole range of different SB in a tub... I scored 30 tubs of Nuclear chicken 3" Gulp minnow grubs which had 30 baits per tub cost $4.50USD, but that avenue has been shut closed on overseas orders now ... |(

Kind of over that now, so would love to tag ...
