Re: Martin's Bay - Thursday

With all the Gannets, Dolphins and workups there seems to be a lot activity around Kawau Bay at the moment. Some nice snapper fillets in that haul Chip, sweet as.

I've come to the conclusion that the art/science of tackle & lure design is all about attracting the fisherman not the fish.

Re: The Beehive 06-08-13

Had the route plotted in Navionics which shows it at 12.1km but with my detour out to Mullet Point and a bit of toing and froing with drifts maybe closer to 15km all up.

Lol.

I don't know what is more disturbing, the fact that there was a smudge this beautiful yak or the fact that you tasted it.

The Beehive 06-08-13

Decided to head out from Martins Bay to the Beehive yesterday, thought it would be nice to beach and have a spot of lunch there. Spotted one orange yak out to the right, but I headed over to Mullet Point to check if there was anything passing with the outgoing tide but other than a few small nibbles...

Martins Bay 31-07

Launched at 8:30am, wind was picking up with a rising swell coming through so not the best of conditions to be heading out but needed a fix. Three drifts from 16m to 8m and back home before lunch. Handful of mixed sized snapper and one unexpected guest. No records but enjoyable none the less, kept 3...

Martins Bay 16-7....,, WIP

Set out from MB around 9am. Headed over to the left and drifted out towards Mullet Point and then Takangaroa Island. Nothing happening so headed back and out to the middle of the bay. Deployed the Lucky Lucanus and worked a couple of softies. Nix, Nada, Nil, Zip, Zilch, Zero, SFA... There are a few ...

Such a beautiful fish the JD. I have only ever caught one and he put on such an awesome fin display and trumpet solo that I slipped him back. You meeting up with Andrew is a bit like two cold fronts coming together to make a perfect storm, fish didn't stand a chance. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk...

Sweet video, looks like you both had a great time. It's nice to find a spot to beach and enjoy a bite to eat and brew a coffee. Congrats on submitting your PHD as well :)
