Re: Lowrance elite 5 question

Yes it will fit, it has the same pin layout but the elite connector uses a different waterproofing design, (a collar instead of the 2 radial ribs) which is why the look different adn there is confusion. I know it fits cus I just tried it. :) The elite connector design is superior.

Re: How-To: Lowrance Elite 5 + Lowrance transducer mount kit install

You might also need to do the following things to make this work for you... I already had the plate made up for my install so I cut the locating wings off the top bit as the the Stephen tap style top plate works as a location device. If you don't want to cut the wings off then you will need to cut a...

Re: How-To: Lowrance Elite 5 + Lowrance transducer mount kit install

This is the DSI install on my 440, I am using the slide interface on the transducer not the screw interface you will need to use on the 83/200 transducer (83/200 transducer doesn't have the slide at this stage). Compared to a Stephen Tapp style install there should be very little difference of the t...

Whooooooa big fella.. Don't be screwing the metal bracket to the bottom of your kayak, you shouldn't have to... I don't understand, why can't you mount the transducer like shown below?

Re: Lowrance DSI

I use a DSI and have done for about a year. Love it, and has really improved my understanding of what I am seeing on screen. It takes away the guess work that you get with traditional sonar. If it is fish you will know it is fish, if it is weed or kelp you know it is weed or kelp. There are a couple...

Re: How-To: Lowrance Elite 5 + Lowrance transducer mount kit install

That's brilliant! Now, can you come round mine and do the install on my 440? Have same unit, [just waiting on the kayak mount kit]. The scupper hole on the 440 isn't in the same place as the 400 so probably requires more drilling..... And then there's battery mounting etc ;( It's all going ...

I have not seen the pricing but knowing how these things get priced in NZ, I don't like saying it (support a local retailer and all) but if you want one, you would probably be better off shipping one in from overseas.

Re: Kayak Cover

Question is why do you want to? The quality of the materials the current NZ made kayaks are made from do not need protection from the elements - UV stable etc, or are you just trying to hide it from prying eyes? "UV stable" is a bit misleading, it should probably say "improved" UV resistance. I wou...

I have never had a close up look at that Ice box, is it sealed and does it use the same rubber pull latches as the centre flippy hatch (if it does I can imagine it ain't that easy to reach around and close up)?
