Re: Braid snapping

I had issues with the Exceed Tournament braid. 12 lb was thinner than anything else I found, but it broke very easily and had weak knot strength ,and didn't cast off the spinning reel well at all. May have been better on a baitcaster but I took it off after the first session and replaced it.

Re: Minimum Requirements Handheld VHF

UH radios are not Marine VHF . Different frequencies and criteria.
Some VHF channels have repeater stations, weather channels , established ship to shore channels etc.
UHF have line of sight and no (?) regs ?

Re: Minimum Requirements Handheld VHF

NOT just larger boats or fixed units but ALL operators of Marine VHF radios must be licensed. Unless in a strictly emergency situation. The license is easy as to get you can apply and sit the test for it online. The VHF is first, cellphone is backup usually. Even 5-6 W units have a surprisingly limi...

Re: New Outback

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. I visited The Watershed and looked over the stock models there. The scupper holes are reinforced specially for their own carts, however they are an additional purchase so I will more than likely stick to my new Wheel eez cart anyway. The new camo coloured Outback has T...

I was working in Hanene St the last two weeks. A couple of times the water looked very nice. I thought of you.

New Outback

Do the supplied scupper hole wheels cause fatigue in the hull over time or are they ok?

Thanks. We are going to be in Wellard , not close to where you put in. We may do the Rockingham boat trip.
Probably no time this trip for fishing.

Re: Viking Profish 35 or profish 400???

I looked at the 35 a while back as second boat. The lure bin rod storage at front is to avoid having rods in the vertical holders catching on overhanging branches when creeping through Aussie mangrove estuaries. Suggests it was not designed for offshore work . I think the 400 would be more suited fo...

Re: Bloody sore bum

Might be your pedfle length needs adjusting. I had to add a couple of layers of yoga mat to the back of my seat to get my legs bent at the right angle for comfort. You can pad out the rudder pedals to get the same effect.
