Re: Transducer Silicone Removal

Use braid and gloves to saw through the silicon first. Then remover solvent and scraper. It may peel off without the solvent.

Re: winter kayak fishing

On my Stealth I sat in a puddle, didn’t matter, arse heat keeps it warm because there’s no scupper letting fresh cold sea water in under there. I wore thermal leggings, summertime too ,it keeps the sunburn away, Rasdex paddle pants over the top as an outer layer, windproof and water proof enough. Wo...

Love your work. I’d love to do one of my own one day when I’m back on my feet. Do you have plans for an Aleutian design?
Keep us posted.

Re: Feelfree lure 10

I stick it in rudder 1st right up to the windscreen now so it doesn't hang out as far. You are actually allowed 4m of overhang past the rear axle by law - which is pretty much the whole kayak. Anyway, I find this system much easier that racks - zero lifting, just slide her in and out. With hindsigh...

Re: Feelfree lure 10

I have not had any experience with that boat, but , 3.0m seems very short to me for an open water kayak, there is a slightly longer version, could be more suited. (I know of one guy that transported a cobra marauder in a long wheel base hiace, with the doors tied together,) don’t be worried about go...

Re: Vacuum sealers.

I have the warehouse as seen on tv one, bought during a sale. It has been ok but some of the other club guys have more expensive models that do seem to be better . I have done a lot of fish and venison with mine and two tips are remove all bone and spines where possible , they can puncture the bags ...

Re: Are reef kayaks any good?

Answer to your question, yep they are good..for the money.
Next step, try a few different paddles if you can. An upgrade will improve your enjoyment hugely. And you can keep your new paddle if you ever see the need to change your kayak in the future.

Re: Deep diving lures

I have tried small inline singles , the trebles give much better results though. Double hooks seem to maintain the correct action that the snapper seem to like. Don’t go too small in Hook size, the maniacal undersized snapper that hit these things will surprise you! I flatten the barbs for my own pe...

Awesome. They work good 8)
Squashing the barbs down is safer too. Looks like you swapped to double hooks from the trebles?
You would have to be brave to run diving lures without a depth reading fish finder ay .
