Not a new thing. Elderly Asian gentlemen are riding all round aucklands waterfront and Orakei area, with bundles of rods and various baskets and plastic bags hanging off the bikes. :D

Re: Bounty Hunter Day Trip

Cheers mate. Always good value on BH. Some nice kings caught. Stevie created a bit of initial interest but because it is made of a plastic derivative the guys immediately found it heavy, ponderous, lacking in responsiveness, hard to steer, sub-optimal layout and if you tried to use it too fast it s...

Stealth make a skiff that can be cartopped, 5hp outboard gets it going well. Two versions available. Rokkit Kitt videos on YouTube are cool. He has some good tips on fishing and camping with one.

Re: Wanted: Stealth Fisha 500/Profisha 525

Griff has a 525 on “ special” and a Fisha 460 too. They pop up second hand occasionally as guys get on the new 555,
I’m in the same position as yourself, if I can’t jump on a second hand version I need to save a while longer to order a new one

Re: Paddle Shopping Auckland

The feel. :) If that's the one I sent, don't be afraid to attack it with a plane (spoke shave is perfect for that) or heavy grit sand paper, angle grinder, belt sander, planer, whatever you have. My really thin one is still going strong, so you can rest assured you can shave hundreds of grams out o...

Re: Newbie - auckland - what helped when starting out?

Best help when starting out? Join a club if possible. Even just join a in on a club outing. Ask questions. Look at what works for others. Online forums, Facebook etc often have guys posting about planned trips, join them. Leash everything except your gaff. Foam on the handle so it floats is better t...

Regularly gets dredged. Maybe it’ll help remove the invasive carpet mussels introduced in contaminated ballast water .

Re: Kayak wheels - Scupper type

Avoid them. Most scuppers cannot handle the stresses put on them from these, especially with tiny hard wheels. It is very hard to repair splits in the scupper areas . Hobie has factory fitted reinforcements to handle their own wheels for a reason. Beach Wheels Wheeleez are the ultimate, cost a bit m...

Savage Gear Manic Prey Diver work well , . Still, it's not a magic bullet, you can drag Dr Evil or anything else, but when they won't bite....they just won't bite. Then you wonder why you bothered. A lot of extra effort for diddly squat in return 😣

Re: Paddle Shopping Auckland

Fergs kayaks in Orakei, Auckland. Sometimes have some decent specials. There is a canoe and kayak store in the Tron?
Also Viking do a nice carbon paddle, Hunting and Fishing Botany could hook you up.
Stealth kayaks have an Angler edition wing blade that looks good.
