Last minute decision so headed out to fish the port waters at 8.30am. Sea was flat with no wind, water temp was 13 degrees and air temp about 10 so not a bad morning. Paddled out to far bouy and anchored, after 30 mins all that was caught was 2 spineys. Decided to head in to port entrance where I an...

Great Catch RJ. Must have taken all your willpower to get it aboard the yak!
I can verify that it was a monster as I have seen the head! Weighed more than most fish that I have caught!
Would have been good to be out there, buts thanks for the fresh fish anyhow.

Good to see some good fish are being caught. Had planned to head out today but got an offer to head into the hills to chase some venison. Unfortunatly I would have been better off catching some fish. Will be out next week as long range weather forecast looks good.

Kayak Fishing
Where have all the kayak fishing people in Hawkes Bay gone, :!: don't seem to be many reports or info pasted here. Remember that the fish are there all year, so lets get the dust off and head for the water. I mostly frequent the port areas and never not come home with nothing. Always a safe entry an...

Well I loaded up and headed to the port at 7am to spot Bruce heading out to red bouy. After kitting out I then headed out as well. Weather was great, fine with no wind. Tide was out so fishing was a little quiet. After a while bruce landed a couple of KY and a gurnard. I then decided to head closer ...
