I have a spot tracker and turn it on when I leave home. It updates my position every 10 minutes to a website which all at home have the link to. Can send pre written texts to nominated phones and has an sos call which goes through to the coast guard if àctivated. Still have a radio but will get a ...

snip Two of the many features oi like on the GME 850 are MOB ( Man Over Board Alert ) . If you end up in the drink you can press a button and it sends a distress signal with your GPS position . snip you sure this works here? my understanding is that the dsc (ch70) is not supported in NZ by Maritime...

I bought the regular ver at the boat show. The floating ver is the same + a slightly larger panel on the back to float it. It makes it marginally larger. shouldn't this be "if you cast with your right, why wouldn't you wind with your left"??

could never figure out the kack-handed, cast, swap rod hand, wind, swap rod hand, cast....

the yak. 1st second hand then an upgrade to new.
It'll outlast me, good for fishing or (mostly) rec paddling exercise, got me onto this forum and all the great stories, info and laughs.
