Re: Introducing my new battleship old town PDL

Apparently the PDL beats even the MK with speed. Was happily cruising 7kph with no efforts. Pedaling at max speed took me up to 10kph!! It's quite a quiet prop too so stealth definitely a big plus! MK's got nothing on me!! Got up to 13kph with nowhere near to full throttle, but I don't feel very co...

Re: Introducing my new battleship old town PDL

I'm jealous!!

While I have basically the same kayak, just with a petrol motor on it (Predator XL), I think there's some major advantages of stealth and ease of moving short distances with the PDL. And seems like the PDL is a dolphin magnet!

Enjoy it mate.

Re: Thursday AHB

I feel your pain man, was always immune to cold water up until 10 years ago. Always got some stares from other divers because I scuba dived in shorts and a t-shirt (just to avoid nipple rash from the BCD) when others would complain about the cold in their 5mm websuits, most of them even wearing hood...

Re: For the love of fish

Man that looks delicious. I donno... I punch chefs who put that size helping on my table and expect me to pay for it! Looks good, but I don't eat with my eyes. And considering that I can sniff that size helping up without blinking, I don't eat with my nose either! Just kidding Esquire, it looks del...

Re: Fishing Kayak Newbie~ Is this a good fishing kayak?

Not being a Kiwi myself, I don't feel quite as strongly about "must be made in NZ" as a lot of others on here do. HOWEVER, it is generally true that you get what you paid for and the question is, do you really want to be out there on the water with your life dependent on some lower quality replica? ...

Okay, I give up... For months (might be years) I've ignored this topic, but it just keeps on coming back. So I clicked on it and looked at the last page's topics assuming you guys have solved world hunger and have moved on to discussing how to preserve Trump's toupe after his eventual demise. But no...

Re: NEW KAYAK FISHING STORE IN NZ

There is already a Hobie retailer/agent in NZ - http://www.nzwatershed.co.nz/ The best place (most population) would be to base it in Auckland. Sorry Mental, I'm quite surprised by those answers of yours. Firstly, Rob's store, Kayak Adventures sounds much more like what MAXGARCIA has in mind than W...

Re: AKL Harbour Bridge 7 March

Tow trucks in Johannesburg operate in gangs. They call them associations, but if you take a job from another association's member, they'll take you out... So I think it qualifies as gangs. Anyway, these guys do exactly that, they sit around all over the place and at peak times, drive around, looking...

Re: Ruakaka 24, 25 March

Nice... Yep, I generally drop one rod right next to the kayak and keep another in my hand with which I cast and retrieve and the verdict is still out as to which one catches more fish. Quite often I feel it's the one I leave to drag underneath the kayak by itself.
