Was about to put new braid on and thought I better check the guides as you all suggested:

Re: Got me a trailer

Finally HLD,

I can't reverse with mine yet, but man, so much easier! Especially as you say, that final lift at the end of a long day of fishing. I just have to rest my kayak's nose on the support bars and it gentle slides onto the trailer.
Plus, wonderfully convenient for storage.

Re: FS Old Town Predator XL With Outboard Mount

That's pretty sad... Zero interest on TM

I guess it's a pretty specialized setup that works well for me, but not that common a requirement.

FS: Old Town Predator XL - ALL OFFERS CONSIDERED

Time's come for me to sell my most loved kayak to date. Old Town Predator XL with outboard mount and WITHOUT the minn kota electric motor. For the record, the outboard works much better than the electric motor that came with the kayak and having to cart a massive 30kgs battery around and still runni...

Re: Braid snapping

Thanks gents, I regularly land legal kingfish and big snapper on 10lb braid in open water. That's what I wanted to hear, then this line was definitely damaged. I let off a LOT of line and it still broke easily deep into the spool, which is surprising. I don't buy no-name brands for braid (I do for o...

Braid snapping

So yesterday on the water I lost a fish as the line snapped.as soon as it started running. Then after tying a jighead directly to the braid as I had no leader with me, I wrapped the line around my fingers to test the knot as usual and the line snapped just before the knot, not the knot itself. Live,...

Re: AHB 4 October

As I was reading, I thought "oh well that a good plan, I can hang an eel next to the kayak if I ever catch one, sounds like you don't need to worry about the blood attracting sharks". But then...guess I won't be doing that then. Yes, I got a camera too and even got an extended battery which means I ...

I think its just luck if u stumble onto the bigger ones at NN. I put bck a lot of babies too. The 2 biggest were caught on softbait.

Sent from my m3 note using Tapatalk
And the two bigger ones are properly bigger. Nice catch there!

Re: Live bait solutions

I bought an aerator from MarineDeals and it lasted all of one trip. Next trip insides were rusted and a no-go. Granted, they'll last longer if you care for them better, but my other gear seem to last okay while receiving the same amount of (or lack of) care. I have a Predator XL, which is very simil...

Re: No good Deed

Yep, I thought we were back to classic FOM. I needed a laugh with this shitty weather. LOL, it was quite believable, wasn't it? Some half-truths in everything... I was meant to go fishing with my son and had considered going on my own. And I have caught a shark before, just not from the kayak, so t...

Re: No good Deed

To add to your regrets and self-recrimination - that's an edible species. Hmm, probably should have researched the photo that I got from Google to get a more dangerous species :) It's just a joke, the pic of the shark is from Google, but the pic of the hole in my side is real. Just not a shark bite...

No good Deed

Thursday I was meant to go out with my son, but we had cancelled the day before due to the forecast. But the morning looked good and I was keen on some alone time, so I headed out to Orere Point on my own... Karma was going to make sure I regretted that decision as my son had been looking forward to...

Worth every penny to hear Telecaster say that he didn't even recognize me when he collected it!
I've lost 20kgs since December!

Anyway, battery is taken.

Gone - 9AH Battery

I upgraded to a 12AH, so this 9AH is just lying around and taking effort to charge it every time I charge the other one. There are no promises, but I think it's in good condition. I just plugged it in to charge this morning and the charger LED when straight to blinking, which I believe means the bat...

Re: Man drowns near Whangarei after falling out of kayak

Wasn't there another kayaker in Whangarei just weeks ago who got stuck on a rock or something?

Andrew, what are you guys doing up there?

Sad this one though!!
