Re: NN 15.3

Good stuff. Hopefully the autumn workups will come soon and the fishing will get easier. Hi Doc, Yeah it's been a weird few months, like you say, hopefully things will pick up now it's starting to cool down. Looks like my football could be cancelled so more time for fishing. I'll see you out there ...

NN 15.3

With The Narrowneck Premier Fishing League currently suspended it was left to me to get out and have a quick trip. I launched at 645 on the incoming tide, the fishing has been tough over the last few weeks but the flea started to get interest immediately. I also had a new penny softie out and was sl...

Re: Narrowneck 19.2 evening

Drop it down to the bottom and flick bail arm over. Then just lift the rod to bring it off the bottom, then let it drop again.
You can also just leave it in the rod holder. I think I use the 21g one.

Re: Narrowneck 19.2 evening

Good result. Try the pink and silver flea. It never fails although you have to get through 10 small ones for a keeper. Use a light drag as hook pulls are common. I only ever drag new penny, try a lighter, 12lb leader with 3/8oz jig head. Again light drag but there's no snags only sand. Hopefully see...

NN evening 12.2

With Mitch and Barry's Valentine's day preperation in full swing, not sure if it was for each other, or their respective wives, and Doc busy writing cards for wouldbe suitors, it was left to The Mayor to do the fishing. I launched at 6pm into a lively inshore wind, it took me an hour to paddle out t...

Re: NN 16.11

Doc it's you and Mitch on pop star wages, if I had to pay for my fish you'd be seeing a can of Sardines!!!
Nice to meet you Silverbak, hopefully we'll see you out there soon. Get an orange slider you can't fail, even Mitch gets the occasional fish.
Hopefully Barry is getting out there on the weekend.

NN 16.11

I met Mitch at the ramp for 6am with Barry missing in action, apparently it was too windy and he still hadn't finished knitting his shawl to protect him from the chilly November mornings. Undeterred myself and Mitch headed out to the yellow ball with the wind at around 7 knots to fish the incoming t...

NN 27/10

A great victory for England!
Another predictable victory for the Mayor.
And a great morning on the water with a bunch of good blokes.
Everyone going home with enough for tea.
Come on England

Nice one, I avoided NN because of the Marathon. Launched from Rothesay but only managed a couple pannies.

What depth were you doing your drifts at Luke?
I'm not sure as I don't have a FF. My fishing involves a lot of luck. I was roughly half way between the green buoys and rough rock.

NN 20-10

After completing my Mayoral duties of firing the starting gun at the Auckland marathon I decided to go for a quick fish. The road closure was a bit of an inconvenience but having competed in La Marathon De Paris, for those that don't speak French roughly translates to "The Paris Marathon" in 2009, i...

Re: NN The Mayor returns.

Dedant, don't make the same mistake as one of my other novice pupil's, namely Doc Profit, did last year.
It's The Marathon and NN is a no go area all morning.
Obviously as Mayor I'll be cutting the starting tape and am also afforded privileged Mayoral parking.

NN The Mayor returns.

Permission was granted for a quick late morning fish. Paddled out towards rough rock with Steve and drifted back to Taka. Both of us caught plenty of fish along the way with the tried and trusted new penny and orange slider doing the damage. Not sure where my usual fishing companions were, probably ...

Mate I think your hearing trumpet must be blocked with seaweed again. Anyway you should of come out yesterday, had the place to myself for once. Got to the yellow ball at 715 & back on the beach at 845, biggest 50cm, fishing was unreal. Enjoy your week off, oh to be semi retired  2019042...

Narrowneck Annual Kahawai Classic

Plans were made and a 615am kick off was agreed by myself, Kermit, Eugenie and Baz for the above annual comp. Things didn't start off great for me. My wife had told me to be quiet when leaving so as not too wake the boys. Unfortunately I'd left my drink bottle on the stairs which I stepped on result...

Re: Fun Fishing with Ferry's

That's the downside of NN, so many boats and with all that sea it amazes me why they feel the need to get so close. Very frustrating and you can never really relaxe as your always looking out for the next idot trying to run you down. Notwithstanding this, it's still a great place to fish and you can...
