Wow very cool to have the dolphin encounter, always very special. Neat to see all the pics of the species you catch - well done.

Re: Breathe of warmth?

That looks great - nice set-up - well done. We have a camping trailer in the pipeline and hopefully have something complete by our Summer. Still throwing ideas around at this stage. Thanks for taking the time to post the pics.

Re: Landing big fish - what do you use and why?

Personally I like a net. You can leave the fish in the water when it reaches the surface and then not having to lift it in the air prevents the hook being ripped out of mouth and loosing the fish (as DocProfit says) or causing it less harm or distress (especially if foul hooked) if releasing it. An ...

Re: WTB: Old town Predator PDL

Personally I would use a trailer for any kayak I used. We have had 2 vehicles need rust taken out from around windscreens - that saltwater sure is destructive! Janet

Re: WTB: Old town Predator PDL

Yes have a couple in the carport..... however they are brand new! Boat Show special still applies until Friday offering a free Ocean Kayak Frenzy for free (worth $699.00). Good luck finding a 2nd hand one - they are very new to the market so expect no-one has reason to part with them!

It was Johnson Outdoors who was the distributor of the Extrasports brand but now they have closed down the NZ branch it is no longer available in NZ. Re: Prowler 13 vs Prowler 4.5 Elite

Hi Telecaster - Rob has paddled both and yes the 4.5 faster with the extra hull length. You will benefit from the rudder also for tracking in a straight line when wind blowing you around.

Re: Prowler 13 vs Prowler 4.5 Elite

Not much difference so if you can afford it go with the Ocean Kayak Trident 4.3 model. Many extra useful features such as side rod holders (flush mount), centre storage unit plus one click easy opening front hatch.

Re: Coromandel Kayak Adventures/Kayak Fishing NZ Get-together 2017

Another epic get-together and combining with KFNZ made the prize pool even more attractive. The wind was not as they predicted and kept some kayakers (women/kids) off the water but still some great fish caught and PB's and firsts were achieved. The rain was there later in the day but didn't spoil th...
