Re: Surprise, Not NN

Better than me at NN Satirday morning. Tried it for the first time and after 5 hours only had one pannie (caught in first 30mins) snap to show for it lol beautiful day out but yeah covered a lot of ground recovering from fast tidal drift. Nice Johnny!

Re: 750 or 1500g Anchor

Hi mate, I've only used my 1500gm twice but both times was easy to use and held firm. Although thanks to the cable tie trick I had to paddle back over it and break the tie to unstick it the last time lol 750gm just doesn't feel heavy enough even though the chain should hold it firm. If your grapples...

Land based fishing Auckland

Hi team, Looking to supplement my addiction when the weather doesn't permit going out, by finding some quiet land based spots that are off the general public radar (aka not onehunga wharf or under the harbour bridge lol). I have just started fishing off the rocks down in the Coromandel (when we can ...

Re: Anyone been out lately

The Stealth. Fishing Ski. Puts the fun back into paddling for me.( Exept when it tosses me sideways into the drink!) Lol oh right! Yeah I'm loving it! Clipping along at 8kph+ rather than 2-3kph if I was lucky! Definitely a Stealth Fanboy now [emoji41] Those sideways moves in surf or speed wobbles? ...

Re: Anyone been out lately

went out yesterday off NN around 9am, had less than 100m visibility in the fog which burnt off in the next 30mins, went into the channel, the tide just started to come in, basically just sat in one spot breeze against slow tide flow, didnt see any other paddlers. Went between no7 and yellow bouy, n...

Re: Anyone been out lately

I think it’s hard going at the moment. Up here, water temperature has dropped several degrees in a matter of weeks. I’ve struggled to get a feed on my last two trips. Hate to say it, but the guys using bait do seem to do better at this time of year. Yeah I'm still a bait fisherman lol Sent from my ...

About time! Lol Definitely heading out in Auckland this weekend but a shame it wasn't last long weekend when in the Coromandel :(

Happy hunting mate and what app/site was that image from? I use tides4fishung.com but like that graphic too :)

Re: Seeking your wisdom - buying a 2nd hand yak

Wow, that’s great! I have to admit I don’t know much about the Stealth yaks aside from them being fast. It will be like stepping out of a Smartcar into a Lamborghini. I dont have the space to store a 495 boat. I might be pushing it at 4.5. But I have watched a few videos on YouTube of an Ozzy guy R...
