Beaut micro jigs

So having waited for NZPost to deliver a range of $1 and $2 lures bought on eBay over December and January, suddenly, they all arrive at once, even though the cunning sellers, were all in different parts of China and thereto, you'd think, that they'd arrive at different times, even with the long del...

Re: FishMaster Elite4 fishing kayak

I'd just finished fettling my new one when the lvl4 lockdown hit, and I've been waiting for an Operation since then, and now I go under the knife tomorrow, so with a following wind I go fishing in a week :) I did meet a chap two days ago who sold an Elite 4 and bought a 14 ft Angler same as mine, ol...

Re: FishMaster Elite4 fishing kayak

From the trademe listing "I am 120Kg and found that with all my gear, I was a little too heavy for this kayak, so I bought a larger 'yak. But if you're 105Kg or less, this'll be ideal. Its lightweight and easy to lift onto a roof rack. " Presently there's a chap coming up on Saturday, to exchange mo...

Re: Car topping?

When I put the smaller of the Kayak's on the roof rack, I'd lay it deck down on the ground, then walk it up from the stern until the seat or thereabouts was on my head then balance with my hands on either gunwale - this was high enough, to sidle to the car and slide it onto the rack sideways. worked...

Re: Pacific oysters for bait

When I was a kid, Rock oysters were protected, and Pacific oysters were only found occasionally. When the oyster farming industry took off, the resultant spat, out-colonised the Rock oysters almost completely. So when eating oysters off the rocks, take a hammer and give the shell remaining on the ro...

Re: covid 19 sports

Just for completeness' sake, here's another email from the PM's office ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ Hi Mark, I’m not sure if the Minister’s office got back to you re kayak fishing at Level 3, so apologies if this is a double up, correspondence isn’t my normal role, but as my usual role fo...

Re: Tuesday...

Yeah, what is it about the Birkenhead wharf? Long time ago, the wharf was used by the "Yacht Spars" mast building factory and as kids we could fish off it, just about anytime, so long as we were respectful and didn't get in the way of the factory operations. Then the factory went and it was all wha...

Re: Level 3 Fishing or not.

Schecter, I just see you got a PB Snapper at Rodgers Road, is that at Pukehina? It's just down the road from Maketu which is where I spend a bit of time. Any tips on the fishing style down there? I've yet to catch one from the Kayak there as I go out in the middle of the day and spend not much time,...

Re: Level 3 Fishing or not.

Due to L3 travel restrictions, I won't be leaving sth Auckland for the Firth anytime soon. I would think that the regional aspect, is open to sensible interpretation "But you’re allowed to drive within your region to visit a park or beach for exercise." So for you the Firth is not so far away, wher...

Re: covid 19 sports

Well gosh, shucks and all :) And because I'm a pedant, I note that the below passage, from Stuff.co.nz, still forbids motors, but we can see Kayaks and presumably, dinghies, skiffs, and waka are allowed (subject to 2m distancing of multiple paddlers in their bubble). "Under level 3, rules around exe...
