Re: Viking or Ocean Kayak?

I have a reload and a 400. Both great with awsome support from Viking Reload would be my choice if you have the spare coin Great storage and tackle pod is awsome. In saying that i have never tried anything else really but i have friends with other brands and they struggle to keep up with me just cru...

Strapping down gear for beach launch

Hey guys, just after some tips/advise on how you all strap down your gear (rods nets etc) for going out through the surf? hasn't been required where i fish normally but going away late January and more than likely going to have to slog it out through the surf. ive got my viking reload and my partner...

Re: reload setup

I find the front factory rod holders very useful. I have 2 railblazas on the very front of my chillpod and never use them really. Also find the right hand hatch holds my drogue perfectly all wrapped up around float. I just pull the running rig and it deploys itself. Left hand hatch i use for a big w...

Re: Wednesday 28th

Where best place to target anything other than kawhai and sharks out ta/clifton ways? Caught about 35 kawhai out that way last time i was out but hard to find anything else? That was out clifton, where i paddled out a fair way and only found 8m of water?

Re: Drouge chute sea anchor

Lady in napier sells them on trademe.
Makes them herself and they are great.
At 65 bux they are very reasonable.
I have two, one for my reload and one for the mrs pf400.
Work great just need to gt a float for them or make one like i did.

Re: Kayak loading

Yeah i have flat cradles and a j bar on the side for my vikings, they are just too wide to fit both flat. I find it much easier to load on and off with j bars. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww78/hoddie12320094/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20161201_092433_zpsgptfdoa4.jpg With j bar i can just roll kayak...

Re: Fish Finder Install

Fairly easy to do yourself mate, any questions you may have should be able to be answered here. Spend the extra money on a better sounder.
You can get railblaza transducer mounts if you have no holes for it etc

Re: Rotorua lakes advice

Cheers for that, whats the best way to find the thermocline in summer? That screen shot helps. Got an elite 7 chirp so i imagine mine will look fairly similar. Last time i was up at okitina last month jelly beans (darker type) were doing the damage. Going to tie up some of my own rigs as i find the ...
