Re: Stradic 4000 Combo

Fantastic reel - I own three Stradic CI4's - never used that rod or braid but look like a good match and at the end of the day that's the price for the reel alone so the rod and braid are in effect free... :y:

Re: Anyone interested in my moulds for centre console???

That's a very cool design well done! Making these is not my game but FYI JO used the same lid on the Tetra so it may fit that model too if someone is looking at the size of the market etc... Or even smarter look at making a second base for it that would mate to a Prowler 13/4.5 then you'd have a hug...

Welcome to the forum!

The old adage of try before you buy is the best way to go really, have a chat with the guys at the North Shore Kayak Club, I know they have a few club kayaks you could borrow to take for a spin :y:

Ocean Kayak Ice Box Skin (SOLD)

Ok, time to have a bit of a clear out me thinks starting with this... It's an Ice Box skin that fits the Prowler 4.7 & 4.3 - note it is NOT insulated - I used it for transporting stuff mostly on mothership trips etc but I did use it couple of times in the back of the kayak with frozen bottles of wat...

Re: Yaks for young teens: Mission Catch 290 vs something more 'serious'?

Update direct from T7 regards the one above missing the rod holder: Hi Jason, you were right, the kayak on display in our Nelson store is missing its rod holder, which prevents water from seeping in. Our team noticed that it was missing, and for customer safety decided it was best to use it for disp...

Re: Yaks for young teens: Mission Catch 290 vs something more 'serious'?

The one I saw in T7's Nelson store is in the photos below. The rod holder is a hole opening directly into the hull. The cap is a poor fit for the hole. I could see a lot of water getting into the hull in some conditions That is absolute GOLD! What you see there is the hard rubber gasket/cap they us...

Re: Paddle issues AGAIN.

Here is one of the best explanations as to why we use offset (feathering) paddles... Feathering is most advantageous when paddling into high winds. The higher the angle of your blade, the less resistance you will encounter. Alternatively, an un-feathered paddle can be advantageous when the wind is a...

Re: Sharkskin vs Adrenalin

I will just add when I did my scuba dive ticket last year we went on a training dive in Lake Pupuke in Auckland in the middle of May and I wore my Sharkskin under my wet suit (socks, long pants, and top) and I got out of the water after over an hour and wasn't feeling any cold where as the rest of t...
