Re: Lower back pain

This is not meant to bag your current kayak but have you looked at other kayak options, first to spring to mind would be one with the "deck chair" type seat, you are elevated and sit on a comfy seat in a more natural position, I used to paddle a Kraken with one and some of the Ocean Kayak ones have ...

Re: Drogue/Sea anchors

This is the one I use on my Stealth - works a treat and is the thinner material so easy to roll up and stow! I am going to sell my Tagit sea anchor if anyone is interested. It's sold as a jetski anchor, but if you want something bigger then this would suit a kayak. I'm upgrading to a larger one as ...

Re: Raymarine wifi unit

Only one I've been able to quickly lay my hands on is this one, it shows the chart at the top (with the self updating depths as you paddle around) the standard fishfinder bottom left, and the downvision on the bottom right - this is from back in October 2015 so it may have changed since then of cour...

Re: Raymarine wifi unit

I used a standard Dragonfly 5 Pro in the same way on a Hornet once, head unit in the hull as a temporary install, and had it hooked up to my iPad in a waterproof case which was running the Navionics app on it so it could show the chart / sounder. I'm sure I took a few screenshots so I'll look for th...

Re: Fishing Kayak Newbie~ Is this a good fishing kayak?

Never heard of the seller myself, must be a Chinese made kayak, and as Mike said it looks very much like a copy of an OK Prowler with it's copy of the flippy lid.

It does look like you get a lot for the money thou...

Re: NEW KAYAK FISHING STORE IN NZ

Sorry FoMI think you took my post the wrong way, I was just pointing out as he paddles/peddles a Hobie that NZ already has a Hobie dealer nothing to do with the current retailer/store itself... And having worked in the kayak retail industry for more than a few years now I can tell you that kayaks ar...

Re: Flags- laws/by-laws or just good practice?

I would say "non-mechanically powered vessels of less than six metres in length" means you are excluded with your sub 6m paddle powered kayak... but is peddle powered classed as mechanical, or if you use one of the small electric propeller systems..? I just read the next clause and unless it's just ...
