Re: Electric Motor recommendation for the Reload

cheers thanks, I didn't think of the strain it would put on the chillpod. I only thought of it as I had seen others with pictures of it attached to the chillpod, but me personally I didn't think it would be a good option as the chillpod is techniquely just sitting there, but also didn't want the rai...

Electric Motor recommendation for the Reload

So I just recently got myself a near new electric motor (Berkley t24) for my kayak (Viking Reload) and I am after some advice on what would be the best recommended setup to install it. I have the Raiblaza bracket to hold the motor, just wondering should I put the hd starports between the rod holders...

Just to double check, is the next get together on the 4th/5th of November going to be held at Papa Aroha?

Re: WHATUWHIWHI KAYAK OPEN DAY

I think they must be calming down a bit, after some complaints to one of the admins at the boat show it seems they have stopped deleting Rob's videos that Kerry had been posting. Stickers are much easier to get hold off on here compared to theirs though, I must get around to putting mine KFNZ on my ...

Re: Wilsons Bay this Saturday 6 May

How's the fishing looking like at Wilsons Bay? I was looking at heading out to Kaiuia on Sunday, it just seemed to good a day to not go out.

Re: Looking for a Viking Reload

Kenny, email Viking in Matamata(two hour drive from Auckland if the traffic is good) directly, tell them what you want and they may be able to give you a better deal then the likes of other kayak retailers offer, like a hurricane seat which a retailer like Canoe & Kayak may not be able to offer. and...

Re: Looking for a Viking Reload

what are you looking at exactly, just the reload, paddle and seat? how much is your budget? Viking generally have some factory seconds, which are brand new kayaks with a slight cosmetic defect, that they don't want to put on the retail shop floor or exported overseas. A really good deal if you have ...

Are in the facebook group? try putting it up there, it might get more attention from those that are looking into kayak fishing and haven't got themselves anything yet.

Re: Newbie

Nice one :) And if you haven't already, try and sort out a cover for the fish finder to help protect it from the salt water when you're out fishing.

Re: Soft baiting leader/knot

Easiest way I have found to tie the FG knot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjzUb5QRKuk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Easy to do with rod in holder on the yak, trick I found is not to much tension on the braid while its in your teeth. Glides through guides easy as. That video makes...

Re: WANTED: Profish 400 lite.

There's always a few 400s that pop up on trademe. http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/kayaks-canoes/kayaks/sit-on-top/auction-1243573205.htm Me personally I wouldn't bother with the 440 as it doesn't glide through the water as quick as the 400 or the reload, I'll be looking at replacing my 440 with eith...

WTB: Enclosed Kayak Trailer

I am after an enclosed/boxed trailer to carry my kayak or two that can also have room to carry rods and other fishing/camping gear. Been able to lock the box is important. My budget would also depend on the trailer, I have a little bit set aside for a trailer. Been able to carry a 4.5m kayak with no...

Re: Orere Point - Boxing day

Sounds like it just wasn't the day to be out. I also had no luck, caught nothing, one of my rods was playing up, the line just wasn't running when the drag was off. Something heavy was also dragging my line along the bottom a couple times, was told it might of been a ray. Not only that, the offshore...

Orere Point - Boxing day

Anyone heading to Orere Point tomorrow on Boxing day?

I have never been out there before and hope to give a try, I am looking to hit it in the afternoon/evening. Is there any direction I should head to make the best of the area?
