Reliable enough, but will scratch the daylights out of your roof...impossible to avoid getting sand in between...

Re: New Outback

If you ever want a trial, we have a pair of Revolution 16's, just about to move from Waitakere to Wellsford, so busy the next couple of weekends, but maybe able to meet up at Snells/Sullivans sometime.
Cheers

Re: New and need some advice on a Hobie Outback

A little unfair to label the Revolutions as slow...we have a pair of Revo 15's and can cruise all day long at 7kph...covering distance much easier than paddle yaks...much easier into a headwind too.

Sullivan's Anzac Day

On the water at 6.30 with everyone else. Landed a couple of 35cm fish early on then ended up out at the south end of Motuora Island with a FF showing heaps of fish, hooked up a 40cm on first drop of orange slider, thinking it was going to be a frantic 1/2 hour and full bag....but that was it..back o...

Re: Charging ff batteries in the car

If the socket produces 13+v is it then ok to connect direct to the ff battery? or do I still need the DC-DC charger?

Charging ff batteries in the car

Is there an easy way to charge a fish finder battery in the car while travelling? We are doing a 2 week South Island road trip over the holidays and will have 2 ff batteries to keep charging up. I have a small 150w inverter that plugs into the lighter socket and a low output trickle charger, but see...

Re: Paddle board paddle at Sullivanā€™s

Who do you mean by them? Our friends left before us, we went out fishing for a few more hours. I'll try to find a contact number for the park ranger?

Paddle board paddle at Sullivanā€™s

Clutching at straws, but did anyone come across a shiny new naish paddle board paddle I left on the grass near the toilet block on Saturday? We were giving some friends their 1st taste of kayak fishing in our hobbies and drove off leaving the yellow bladed aluminium paddle behind.

In the past I've always ha...

Re: Milford Sound (and Abel Tasman)

Any thought's about upgrading gear? I'm thinking there's not much point going above say 20kg in line weight/rod rating/drag...any more than that is likely to flip the kayaks eh?

Milford Sound (and Abel Tasman)

We're taking the Hobies to the South Island at xmas/new year, anyone got any hints/tips for fishing in Milford Sound and also Abel Tasman area?
We normally slowjig/softbait on fairly light gear (6kg braid)
