Re: Bixpys and Kayak Fishing Comps

Regarding the entry of bixby craft in the Northland... This is a recent alteration... And when I brought my ticket a few months back, it was last year's rules. I have no issue with the inclusion of the craft. I am there to make memories and have fun outside of my usual. I still don't think there is ...

Re: Bixpys and Kayak Fishing Comps

As a teacher of Science... I have never come across this E as a source of power that you speak of. If you want to get technical, it is electricity that powers an electric MOTOR... It means that you start with an ability to access fishing resources that are beyond the range of those who are unassiste...

Just got ocean angler jitterbug rod. Seems great action and only 149 bucks at the moment at marine deals.

Unfortunately no fish to test it this morning

Re: Bixpys and Kayak Fishing Comps

pretty sure the t&c's of the Northland Classic and Viking series exclude any motor powered kayaks... Except the one where boats are allowed as well... I see it as an unfair advantage, but understand the reasons why people use them for recreational safety etc... Under competition conditions, I think ...

Re: Slow jigging rod and reel

I have a Daiwa Blue Backer and legalis LT setup Whats your opinion on the drag, at a lighter setting with your legalis LT reel ? I'm looking at either one of those or the exceler reel in the 2500 size for an ultra light strayline outfit in the 2kg mono line class I have the 4000 which is a lot more...

Re: Sullivans 7/3

Modified Albright is easy to tie on the Kayak and relatively thin through the guides... I tie FG before I head out, and if I need to retie on the yak, I hit the ModAlbright.

Re: Knots damaging guides?

I try and set up FG knots on all my rods before I go... A nice luxury of time and space... Quite hard to tie on the yak, so use modified Albright which is pretty fast and lower profile than double uni. To be honest, the only knots that have damaged guides for me is the double uni.

Re: Looking for a Viking profish GT

I am looking to upgrade my GT to a Reload... SOLD! Green - Purchased last year as slightly shop-soiled. Shop smoothed out a few bumps. I am keen to buy the Reload and then swap the Tackle Pod from my GT (Which I want to keep) with the new one. I would also want to keep the running rig. So this would...

Sorry that this has happened to you!
