Hey Kerry kept an eye out for you! Think 37 was the largest I saw caught.. 28 off the bricks by that english lad mike.. never seen the west coast so flat! Big Red snapped its rudder at cape barrier on friday... :-( I'll be land based for a while....

trying a few different things, dont recommend fishing high tide... good results on low light, out going tide about and hour after high and swell permitting.. fished same conditions when sun was high not a sausage to be caught... got my gurnet! snaps, few mussles for the coconut cream mix... no trevs..

epic Kerry! had the proper weight belt this summer... very clear.. everything in close! no crays but saw plenty taken on tank.. can dig out some great white footage from Maria van Diemen.. man i love your playground!

it had its tail end clevered off, came to the shallows to die.. it tasted so good! a little soft.. if i had known at the time i would have iced it up and sent it down... but it fed the eels, sharks and myself for a few days :) hand feeding the bronzies nothing like it... loved that post paddlesnap caught it when you posted it! (need the dive gear out there!) next trip want to go right around clockwise from stony bay or fletchers..

Will do Kerry.. bugs are in berry down here... about to get some nice long fins and sort out the boat speed ;)

Hey Kerry, yeah big trip, took the dive gear, left the rods behind, bit of a test trip. Remember xmas when I took ages to reach you in the current at spirits bay, well had plenty of that going on down at the cape barrier. Got on the home brew and socialised mainly.. Saw a whale!

Easter Barrier trip from Stoney Bay to Rakitu Island 130km approx (give or take aborted haul outs and double backs).

Easterlys 10 knots, 1 metre swell (add 20 metres when going around cape barrier)

both Colville crossings took about 3 hours.
